The new Felt Broam adventure/gravel series of bikes are a redesign of the versatile V series and are equally at home off road or on pavement, gravel racing or commuting to work year around.
Frame and Fork
The Broam frame is constructed of lightweight, butted and hydroformed aluminum tubing with internally routed cables to keep everything functionally and aesthetically clean.
Up front the carbon fiber fork provides road vibration dampening and the aluminum steerer tube is the current standard: tapered, with a 1.125″ bearing at the top and a 1.5″ bearing at the bottom to maximize lateral stiffness.
All Broam series frames include mounts for rear racks, front and rear fenders, three water bottle cages and a top tube bag. You can carry some gear.
Drivetrain and Brakes
The shifters and derailleurs are Shimano's newest R7000 105 with flat mount hydraulic disc brakes and mechanical shifting.
Braking on the bike once the pads have been bedded in is very strong with minimal lever effort and very good modulation.
The crankset is FSA Omega crankset with a 46/30 chainring combination and the cassette range is Shimano R7000 11-34.
The resulting 30/34 ratio is lowest gear that we have ever seen on an unmodified road bike. Perfect for SW Pennsylvania.
Wheels and Contact Points
The remainder of the components are Devox by Felt. The seatpost, stem and handlebars are aluminum.
The wheels are tubeless ready and the tires are 700x40 puncture resistant Maxxis Refuse multi-surface.
Broams are available in the full run of sizes: 47, 51, 54, 56, 58, 61 cm.
