DXTs are the Dual Sport hybrids from Jamis. Dual Sports have more of a mountain bike look with a suspension fork and knobbier tires.
While not designed for actual mountain biking, Dual Sports include 42mm wide tires with a multi-surface tread able to ride on easier dirt trails.
The trade off for the suspension fork and tires is extra weight, all Dual Sports will weigh about 5lbs heavier than the equivalent fitness bike.
Like every bike in this price range, the A3 has a basic 7 speed drivetrain with a triple crank and mechanical disc brakes, equipment good enough for occasional riding but not designed for more than that.
If you are riding more often or more miles we recommend taking a look at the better equipped DXT A2.
