This is the modern hardtail.
Outfitted with the best suspension, drivetrain and brakeset available at this price point, the Komodo 29 provides maximum performance from a $2,000 hardtail.
It starts off with a whopping 5.5 inches of air spring suspension up front provided by the Rock Shox 35 Silver fork.
This is joined with the new Deore M6100 1x12 drivetrain, the best mid priced mountain bike drivetrain ever made. Sram Eagle SX can't touch it.
The Deore kit is matched with a RaceFace 1x crankset and bottom bracket, Shimano MT400 4 piston hydraulic brakes and an internally cable routed KS dropper seatpost.
As for the wheels, the Komodo 29 confirms the industry trend to eliminate the 27.5 inch Plus wheel size and move to a 29 x 2.5-ish standard.
The truly tubeless ready wheelset laces Stan’s Flow D rims to Shimano MT400 Boost 110mm/488mm hubs with sealant friendly WTB Vigilante 29 x 2.5” and Trail Boss 29 x 2.4” Tubeless Compatible System tires.
If you thrive on connection to the trail, the flow of roller-coaster descents and the climbing traction of a mountain goat, the Jamis Komodo 29 will take you there without the added weight and complexity of dual suspension.
Stan's it up and ride. There's nothing to upgrade except the pedals.
