The first steel frame model in Jamis' Renegade lineup is built with Reynold's 520 tubing, the gold standard is chromoly steel since the 1980s.

The frameset, matched with a full carbon fiber fork up front offers a noticeably better ride quality than comparable aluminum bikes.

The S4 is outfitted with Sora components, Shimano's better recreational rider parts kit. It’s a 9 speed group that's excellent for the money and does most of what the more expensive groups do.

It has mechanical disc brakes instead of hydraulic, but it has been proven to be very reliable and in our experience needs the least tuneups and adjustments of any Shimano road group.
