For kids that aren’t ready to pedal a bike, usually ages 2 and 3, balance bikes lets them power along just by kicking. Learning to coast and balance on two wheels is part of the natural evolution to riding a bike.
Kazam's v2s model, all things considered, is the best designed balance bike available today. The center foot rest is the key.
Once kids can coast a bit on a balance bike their problem becomes keeping their feet off the ground for more than a few seconds at a time. The center plate address this, and only Kazams offer this.
Quality-wise, this v2s model has metal wheels with rubber tires unlike the cheap, hard, rough riding, molded plastic wheels found on Striders and mass merchant Kazams.
The better wheels are smoother, stronger, quieter, easier to push and much grippier.
They make a slightly lighter aluminum frame version for $30 more that is available to order, but after stocking them for a year we stopped.
Kids (and sometimes parents) couldn't tell the difference, unlike the wheel upgrade. Save the money.
