The Maxxis Forekaster is the best premium mountain bike tire for western Pennsylvania trails we have ridden.

Many tires are designed for the dryer, rockier hardpack of Colorado and California where the bike companies live and ride.

Faster rolling and more than half a pound lighter per pair than the very similar Maxxis Ardent, with just slightly less traction.

The Forecasters are excellent on loose trail conditions and provide better mud-clearing than thicker, knobbier tires.
