The most affordable way for home mechanics to rejuvenate their bikes are these aftermarket kits that include shop quality cables and housing as well as all the little parts generally parts needed for installation.
All kits includes pre-lubed housing, pre-stretched stainless steel cables (not the basic galvanized steel wire most bikes are shipped with) as well as housing end caps, cable frame protectors, and cable end caps.
Each kit includes front and rear, so only one kit is needed for brakes or shifting.
Available in three versions: Shift (all bikes), Road Brakes or MTB Brakes (which also includes hybrids, comfort bikes and kids bikes).
